NYC Caribbean Heritage Award recipient, NAACP Image Award recipient for teaching inner city kids in her neighborhood of the South Bronx about the joys of classical music along with citations from NYS Senate, City Hall and the UN . Marie-Claire Giraud was born on the island of Dominica and raised in The Bronx, New York City.
Marie-Claire has performed at the Barclays Center, MSG, City Hall , Small’s Jazz Club, Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festivals, Cartagena Jazz Festival, Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall and Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater to name a few. Marie-Claire is a soprano who sings opera, jazz, musical theatre and is also a songwriter who made her Broadway debut starring in the Tennessee Williams one act play Hello From Bertha in 2022 .
Marie-Claire is a regular at Parker’s Thompson Hotel Central Park accompanied by Lee Musiker and other well known pianists performing her one woman show, “ The Great American Songbook at the Movies”. 2024 is exciting for Marie-Claire as she is regular at Michael Imperoli’s jazz lounge, Scarlet in NYC, winner of the Hawaii International Classical Music Competition and will be singing at the winners concert in Honolulu and jazz concerts in Maui.
