Dr. P.V.Bose was initiated into the Carnatic classical form of music at the young age of eight. Veteran musician Kunnamkulam Shri David Bhagavatar introduced him to the basics of this discipline and helped develop his sensibilities and creative energies in this direction. P.V.Bose graduated with distinction in Carnatic Vocal Music from the Indira Kala Sangit University, Khairagarh, India. He later completed Post Graduation in Music , MPhil (Music) and PhD with honors from the University of Delhi, India where he matured as an artiste of high caliber under the expert guidance of Padmashree Prof: Leela Omchery, Padmabhushan Prof: T.N.Krishnan and Prof: T.R.Subrahmaniam.
Dr. Bose has been giving public performances since the age of sixteen and his recitals have been very well received by discerning audiences throughout India and abroad. His innovative vocal concerts of Jugalbandhis (Fusion) with Sarod and the Hindustani style Dhrupad were well received by all music lovers. He has also been well received as an Academician as he gave en number of Lectures and Lecture demonstrations on Indian Music in various Universities and colleges in India abroad. His recent book entitled “Panchaka in Indian Music” published by Raj Publications, New Delhi is well appreciated by the readers.
As a play back singer, he has sung for more than 20 movies in Telugu and Tamil. Many audio albums composed and sung by him have been released by various leading recording companies. He is the recipient of Silver Medal at the Global Music Awards, 2019 in the catagory of Best Male Singer and his Music band Transwaras bagged silver in the category of World Music Fusion. Another video album ‘ Karuna cheyvan..’ in the backdrop of river Ganga is a great success as a fusion album in the world music category, which bagged the best musical short award at Avalonia festival II, Rhonde Island in the United States of America. He has served as the Principal in charge of Bharathiar Palkalaikoodam, (Bharathiar Centre for Performing & Fine Arts) Pondicherry, a Graduate College affiliated to Pondicherry University, Puducherry, India.
