Ya-ching CHANG is a violinist from Kaohsiung, TAIWAN. She is the violinist and the producer in her music albums, her contemporary classical album “Hái-ang Paint (2018)”, which won Best Fusion Album and Best Arrangement at the Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music in Taiwan. Also “Hái-ang Paint II (2022)” won the Silver Medal Prize at the Global Music Awards in 2023. And the classical album “The Complete Beethoven Sonatas for Piano and Violin” played by Ya-Ching Chang and Wen-Chuan Wang won the Silver Medal Prize at the Global Music Awards in 2024.
Chang studied under Michele Auclair at the New England Conservatory to earn a Master of Music in Violin Performance. A dedicated, passionate performer, she has received countless awards for her work in Taiwan and United States, such as first prize at the Concerto Competition in Maryland, first prize at Concerto Competition of Taipei Symphony Orchestra. After back to homeland, she is an active violinist.
Influenced by her painter father, Chang has become fond of Taiwanese music in recent years, traveling all over Taiwan to record the traditional folk music of various ethnic groups so as to preserve it, arrange for violin music, and promote it to international audience.
