Yeisy Rojas Rodriguez

Yeisy Rojas is a Cuban violinist, singer, and composer whose musical journey spans diverse genres and continents. Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, Yeisy began her formal music training at the National Art School in Havana, where she studied violin for 11 years.

After graduating from the National Art School, she began working as a violinist at the Opera House in Havana and also served as a pianist for the National Ballet of Cuba.

Driven by a desire to expand her musical horizons, Yeisy moved to Norway, where she pursued jazz violin studies. She completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in jazz, further honing her craft and developing a unique fusion of classical, jazz, and Latin influences.

Following her studies, she released three singles, which gained significant attention and led to an invitation to perform at the prestigious International Jazz Day Gala in Oslo. 

She also had the opportunity to showcase her talent during a live session on Norwegian National Radio. Her performances at renowned festivals such as the Molde Jazz Festival and Kongsberg Jazz Festival further solidified her reputation as an emerging artist.

In 2023, Yeisy released her first studio album, A Mis Ancestros, an homage to her Cuban roots and heritage. The album received widespread acclaim, with positive reviews from major publications recognizing her talent and artistry. Billboard recommended her as a rising star, and Rolling Stone listed her as one of the “Artists You Should Know.”

Her groundbreaking album A Mis Ancestros was nominated for the prestigious Latin Grammy® Awards in 2024 in the category of Best Tropical Traditional Album, marking a pivotal moment in her career. 

With her distinctive voice, virtuosity on the violin, and deep connection to both her Cuban heritage and contemporary jazz influences, Yeisy Rojas continues to captivate audiences around the world, establishing herself as one of the most exciting and innovative artists of her generation.
